Le Groupe Iber
Active in the development and management, and more recently in real estate development under the banner of its Iber Immobilier division, le Groupe Iber began operations in Canada during the 1990s.
Since that time, Montréal has been the focus of its projects development and management activities. Le Groupe Iber and Iber Immobilier currently manage a large portfolio of properties, including hotels, apartment-hotels, commercial and office buildings as well as residential properties at various stages of development.
Le Groupe Iber has continually distinguished itself at the forefront of property development, identifying value properties in emerging urban locations. Its prescient development of holdings located downtown and around the «Quartier International», beginning in 2000, anticipated a remarkable transformation of the district centred along Rue McGill in downtown Montreal. These projects include the Hotel St-Paul, the first boutique-hotel design in Montreal, and the Wilson building. The conversion of the Hotel St-Paul building, originally the Canadian Express Building (and one-time headquarters for Canadian Pacific) instantly established the property at the avant-garde of Montreal’s hospitality sector and garnered countless design international awards. The restoration and adaptation of the Wilson Building for commercial and office use brought new life to an important historic landmark located between the new Quartier International and Old Montreal.
Hotel Management
Through the years, Le Groupe Iber has realized consistent success in assembling and managing a portfolio of diversified hotels. These properties range from limited service to full service, and cover a broad range of categories including economy, mid-scale and boutique style.
Le Groupe Iber’s success lies in its ability to bring added-value to each of the properties by ensuring that the necessary expertise is present from the early stages of development and by maintaining a superior level of overall management of daily operations.
